The Graduate School’s annual Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) Competition will be held November 11–12, 2026, in the Joe Paul Theater. The preliminary round will take place Wednesday, November 11, from 12:00pm–4:00pm, with the top eight finalists advancing to the final round on Thursday, November 12, from 12:00pm–2:00pm.
Southern Miss faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to attend and hear multiple presentations showcasing the outstanding research being conducted by graduate students. Participants have three minutes to clearly explain their thesis or dissertation research to a nonacademic audience. The competition is open to all graduate students, with a virtual participation option for students enrolled in 100% online programs. Monetary prizes will be awarded to the top presenters.
