  • A barn fire on Herchenhahn Road in Forrest County took the lives of five goats and destroyed equipment this morning — firefighters quickly put out the blaze with no injuries reported.  WDAM

  • Cattle ranchers are thriving without federal aid as high prices and steady demand keep their operations profitable, according to longtime rancher Stacey Broadhead in Mendenhall. He explained that switching to cattle farming takes significant time+money and expertise compared to row-crop farming that recently received emergency aid.  WLBT
