- ➤ Retired Navy veteran Deborah Barnes is serving free meals today at Southgate Freedom Plaza near Camp Shelby from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.—a tribute to her late son Devante Davis and an effort to aid locals still recovering after the recent SNAP pause. WDAM
- ➤ The Domestic Abuse Family Shelter in Laurel needs new toys and gifts from the community this holiday season to help survivors feel cared for—local organizations must schedule drives with pick-up or delivery by Dec. 12, and donations may include clothing and shoes for all ages. WDAM

- ➤ South Jones High School’s Band of Braves returned from Indiana as the Class A Grand National Champion at the Band of America Championships+ they also earned Overall Music Performance and Overall Visual awards and arrived home around 8:30 p.m. Sunday as the community welcomed their success. WDAM
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ In week 12, Alabama lost 23-21 to Oklahoma at home, breaking a 17-game win streak under coach Kalen DeBoer—Texas A&M rallied from a 27-point halftime deficit to edge South Carolina 31-30 while Georgia won 35-10 over Texas; other victories by Ole Miss, Tennessee and LSU may shift the upcoming Coaches Poll and AP Top 25 rankings.
