Hattiesburg held a ceremony to honor veterans and their service—local officials and groups attended the event.

The African American Military History Museum in downtown Hattiesburg is in a building that served as a USO Club for African Americans during World War Two.

Director Latoya Norman said the museum features exhibits showing African Americans serving from the Revolutionary War to the War on Terror and is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and 12 to 4 p.m. on Saturday.

Gas prices in the Gulf Coast dropped to an average of $2.51 per gallon for regular fuel on Monday from $2.58 last week—prices fell by about 21 cents since last month and are roughly 17% lower than the national average.
