- ➤ On Labor Day, the Ryan Hendley Memorial Race raised more than $12,000 for The Arc of Southeast Mississippi to support programs for adults with disabilities. Race organizers said the annual 5K—organized by the Pine Belt Pacers—honored Ryan Hendley's memory and marked one of the largest donations in recent years. WDAM
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Mississippi will return to standard time at 2 a.m. on Nov. 2 when clocks fall back—giving residents one extra hour of sleep. Daylight saving time will start again in March 2026. Hattiesburg American
- ➤ MDHS officials announced that SNAP benefits for November may be delayed or not issued due to a federal shutdown that halted benefit file transmissions—this is not a state decision.
