- ➤ The South Forrest County Food Pantry has served nearly 100 households since opening in June, giving out 41 food boxes on its first Saturday and 115 on Oct. 11 when six new families signed up. Board member Nancy Davis said the pantry helps local residents—especially those who cannot reach Hattiesburg and students at South Forrest Attendance Center—and donations and volunteers are still needed. - ➤ Heidelberg High canceled its home games after gun violence on Oct. 10—district officials confirmed the Oct. 17 game against Bay Springs did not take place and the Oct. 24 contest against Kemper County will be canceled to ensure player safety as six people were arrested. - ➤ William Carey University is hosting its first fall homecoming with the second annual Carey Carnival to boost enrollment and community ties. - ➤ A doctor from SCRMC became the first in the state to receive the Mississippi Trauma Pin honor at a recent ceremony—this award shows the physician's strong work in trauma care. WDAM

- ➤ WDAM and Gray Local Media announced expanded access to New Orleans Pelicans basketball games for DIRECTV streaming, satellite and U-Verse subscribers across the three-state area.
