Good morning, Hattiesburg.
🏘️ Community
On Saturday, Hattiesburg held the Deen—Tate End of Watch Ride to honor fallen officers Benjamin Deen and Liquori Tate, who were killed in the line of duty in 2015, and the 58-mile ride raised funds for the local police department benefit fund and memorial scholarships.
🎭 Culture
Hattiesburg’s St. John Lutheran Church hosted its 45th annual Oktoberfest Saturday with traditional German food and music to raise funds for ten missions, including local, regional, and international efforts—celebrating 20 years with the USM Euphonium Ensemble.
🎓 Education
A former USM student has sued the school and his fraternity after an alleged hazing incident that required surgery and physical therapy.
