- ➤ Extra Table and Leadership Pine Belt are hosting a food packing party on Thursday, Sept. 18 at University Baptist Church from 4 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. Volunteers will help pack 10,000 meals for Edwards Street Fellowship Food Pantry and need 60 more helpers to join the 40 already signed up — the effort supports food-insecure neighbors in our community. - ➤ Hattiesburg Alliance for Public Art is inviting artists to submit up to three original artworks for phase four of the Utility Box Trail—this phase will add 20 painted boxes to the 44 already in place and submissions with a concept statement and draft are due by noon on October 3 with painting set to begin mid-October. - ➤ Since its start in 2019, the Mississippi Lottery has delivered multiple million-dollar wins including a record $10 million Powerball victory in Petal on February 10—recently, players in Moss Point and Coldwater each won $2 million from Mega Millions and Powerball in August. WJTV

- ➤ Lamar County is clearing trees along road curves to boost driver visibility—officials say the project will improve safety on these challenging routes. WDAM
