GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ On Sept. 3, the Department of Justice filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court alleging that city officials discriminated against a former Water & Sewer Department employee who complained about sexual harassment by a supervisor and was fired for alleged insubordination. - ➤ Voters in Forrest County will choose between Wes Curry and Tangi Carter on November 4 in a special election to fill the Circuit Court judge seat for Forrest and Perry Counties, with the winner set to be sworn in in January and serve until January 2027. WDAM
