- ➤ In summer 2011, Jones County deputies found Henry Charles Adcock shot in the back of his head at his home after Waynesboro police called for a welfare check during a burglary at his pawn shop — investigators believe the robbers were after keys and witnesses saw a black female and a vehicle near his property. - ➤ Today, the Southeast Mississippi Rural Health Initiative is offering free check-ups and screenings for National Health Center Week at clinics in Beaumont, Brooklyn, Hattiesburg, Lumberton, New Augusta, Seminary, Sumrall and Picayune—patients can get checks for blood pressure, vision, cholesterol, HIV, breast and prostate—and additional screenings are available on request.
