- ➤ On Tuesday, the 47 Miss Hospitality contestants gave back to Hattiesburg—packing rice and beans at Extra Table, listening to a speaker at Forrest General Hospital, and decorating care packages for cancer patients. They will compete for the 2025 crown Friday and Saturday. WDAM

GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Construction is underway on a major drainage and infrastructure improvement project along West 7th Street, Grace Avenue and North 25th Avenue to reduce flash flooding and improve pedestrian safety. The $4.62 million project will replace aging water and sewer lines and upgrade curbs, gutters and sidewalks — funded by the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality, American Rescue Plan Act allocation and local water and sewer funds. - ➤ Beginning today, roadwork and paving start on South 40th Avenue and are expected to take two weeks weather permitting. Crews work weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.—traffic will be reduced to one lane and access via Jamestown Road, Heatherwood Drive, and northbound Lincoln Road will be closed. WJTV
