The Red Cross is asking for at least 100 volunteers during hurricane season to help set up, run and close shelters while delivering food, clothing and aid to people in need later this year.

Volunteers work shifts that last two to four hours or sign up for longer service, and all receive training for their roles.

Converge, the nonprofit that runs federal family planning funds for 91 clinics, had its funding restored after a three-month hold that forced the group to lay off half its staff—officials confirmed the agency found the nonprofit in compliance following its investigation.
