Good morning, Hattiesburg. Here's your local news at a glance for Tuesday, the 17th of June.

COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Two Ellisville families with the same last name had triplets delivered by Dr. Joe Washburne less than six months apart — one set born at 31.5 weeks and the other at 32.5 weeks — marking a rare event in this small town just in time for Father’s Day. The mothers connected through Facebook for support during their journeys, and all babies and moms fared well.  WLBT
  • Sixteen-year-old Marlena rescued her four sisters from foster care after their mother was deemed unable to keep them safe—she later secured a housing voucher and a job as a nursing assistant to help support the family. Despite reuniting, the siblings continue to face challenges with mental health and limited support from the system.  Hattiesburg American
