Good morning, Hattiesburg.

On Saturday morning at 4:15 a.m., a black Cadillac traveling south lost control on I-59 at mile marker 69—its heavy damage blocked all northbound lanes—and rolled several times, injuring an adult and a 14-month-old who were taken by ambulance to a local hospital.

The annual story walk promotes literacy and movement in the local area as organizers invite families to join a guided route in a park—event details will be shared soon.

The Hattiesburg Pocket Museum hosts its annual StoryWalk (fifth year in a row) where children grab free books and read along its Literary Trail while moving outside; organizer Stacy Creel said parents also signed up their kids for the city's summer reading program (designed to boost literacy).

Serengeti Springs opened for its second season on May 8th at 1:29 p.m. CDT.

The park now welcomes visitors to enjoy its attractions as the new season unfolds.

Southern Miss, which won 18 in a row, will face Coastal Carolina, which won 17 straight, in the Sun Belt tournament championship today at 1 p.m. at Riverwalk Stadium—both teams have strong seasons and could host NCAA regionals.

Southern Miss baseball played Troy yesterday at Riverwalk Stadium in Montgomery as the Golden Eagles, riding a 17-game win streak, fought for a spot in the Sun Belt title game.

A Troy victory would have forced a rematch later that day— a key test for Southern Miss's hopes to host an NCAA regional.
