- ➤ During National EMS Week, Cox Roofing gave a free roof to Lottie Boyles, an EMServ employee from Jones County whose home suffered tornado damage and for whom repairs were unaffordable—Boyles said the roof is a blessing for her family. WDAM
- ➤ Fourteen Pine Belt organizations received $107,135 in grants on Tuesday in Taylorsville from Southern Pine Electric’s Members Helping Members program to support public safety, education and food assistance efforts. The next grant application period runs from August 1 to August 31 — eligible groups such as nonprofits and schools are encouraged to apply for future funding. WDAM

- ➤ Greene County High School and Taylorsville Attendance Center honored their Top of Class 2025 winners at a program sponsored by Jones College—valedictorians Sadie Breland and Chloe Gunter and salutatorians Sarah Brockway and Ford Matthews, with Breland set to study mathematics education, Brockway nursing, Gunter psychology and Matthews electrical engineering. - ➤ Camp Shelby will release live bombs during a controlled training exercise on Friday afternoon — military officials say the demonstration is part of routine readiness measures. WDAM
- ➤ Mississippi Secretary of State Michael Watson launched TextMyGov—an elections resource that lets voters text HI to get election information and report issues via keywords. The service also sends opt-in text alerts ahead of the general election on Tuesday, June 3. WDAM

- ➤ Seminary High School beat Mooreville High School 9-1 Wednesday at Trustmark Park to win the MHSAA Class 3A baseball state championship—its first title in baseball since 1996 after sweeping the best-of-three series with a 2-1 win on Tuesday. WDAM
