  • Archaeologists unearthed a rare cast iron casket from Asylum Hill Cemetery on the UMMC campus that dates back to the late 1800s. The six-member team discovered it in March & the find may help guide ethical research as they study the site.  Hattiesburg American

  • The Jones College Bobcats have earned a spot in the NJCAA World Series for the first time since 2016 after sweeping Northwest Mississippi Community College in the Ellisville Super Regional; their bracket is set to be announced Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. and the tournament begins May 23.  WLBT
