  • The Blues Festival, a longstanding Mother's Day tradition, was held yesterday in Hattiesburg with local musicians and food vendors entertaining families. Organizers said the event celebrated decades of community spirit and will return next year.  WDAM

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Vacation season nears and the Hattiesburg Convention Commission said it will boost tourism by promoting local attractions such as Serengeti Springs, Hattiesburg Zoo, and 13 city facilities that account for 64% of visitor spending. Commission officials said new museum projects on Sixth Street will open soon—offering more reasons for locals and visitors to enjoy Hattiesburg.  WDAM

  • William Carey's baseball team will open the NAIA postseason baseball tournament and is very motivated to perform well. The coaching staff says the players have been training hard+ and will build strong momentum during the postseason.  WDAM
