Mississippi artists Mr. Sipp, Eden Brent & Christone 'Kingfish' Ingram won major awards at the Blues Music Awards in Memphis on May 8, with Mr. Sipp earning the B.B.

King Entertainer Award, Brent receiving the Pinetop Perkins Award, and Ingram winning Best Guitarist; Chicago’s Ronnie Baker Brooks also earned honors for Song of the Year and Contemporary Blues Album.

The University of Southern Mississippi celebrated its Class of 2025 on May 9 when President Dr. Joe Paul awarded diplomas to 2,025 undergraduate students from the Colleges of Arts and Sciences, Nursing, and Business and Economic Development — graduates who shared their pride and hope for the future.
