- ➤ The Forrest County Sheriff’s Office and sponsors hosted the first-ever Motorfest at the Multipurpose Center to bring community members and officers together for motorcycle rides, dirt bike laps, food, and music — the event paused at 4:00 p.m. to honor Deputy Jeremy Malone, killed last year in the line of duty, and proceeds will support the Pine Belt Foundation Fund for new equipment. - ➤ The Hattiesburg Zoo kicked off its 75th anniversary celebration Saturday by introducing a new mascot named Ti—short for Tiberius the Imaginary Tiger. The zoo will hold themed celebrations, including a new Flamingo exhibit and video commercial, every second Saturday through April next year. WDAM
- ➤ On Saturday, 1,400 people joined the fifth Farm to Fork: Ride/Run event at The Barn at Bridlewood in Lamar County to help feed hungry people through Extra Table. The races and cycling rides raised over $85,000 — enough to cover one month of food purchases and mark 15 years of service across Mississippi. WDAM

- ➤ Officials with the Mississippi Department of Public Safety seized 205 pounds of marijuana + 560 THC product units + 6 pounds of edibles + 150 mushroom product units from a box truck on I-10 eastbound in Hancock County on Wednesday as the Commercial Transportation Enforcement Division worked with the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office. - ➤ Yesterday's 26th annual Downtown Crawfish Jam Music Festival at Walthall Park featured six hours of music and an all-you-can-eat feast of mudbugs, corn, taters, and more, serving as the largest fundraiser for the Walthall Foundation — proceeds will support renovations of the historic Walthall Community Center Building. - ➤ On Saturday, the Epsilon Upsilon chapter of Alpha Tau Omega held its 40th annual crawfish boil at USM's Spirit Park and raised more than $23,000 to help The DuBard School for Language Disorders. The fraternity, which planned the event since December, said the results showed their strong support for the local school — building on last year’s $17,000 raise. WDAM
