ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The U.S. Geological Survey says Mississippi’s lowest point is at sea level, and many locals may have visited it along the Gulf Coast beaches (which stretch 359 miles). Woodall Mountain rises 806 feet inland, showing just how flat most of the state really is.  Hattiesburg American

SPORTS NEWS

  • Mississippi State’s Josh Hubbard won the Howell Trophy for a record third time on Wednesday night, beating Jackson State and Southern Miss with 2,000 career points. Ole Miss guard Cotie McMahon claimed the Gillom Trophy as she averaged 20 points per game and was selected 11th in the WNBA Draft.  WLBT
