- ➤ Camp Shelby dedicated two new helipads in honor of Guard pilots Chief Warrant Officer 4 Derek Abbott and Chief Warrant Officer 4 Bryan Zemek, who died in a training accident on Feb. 23, 2024 near Booneville. Mississippi House Resolution No. 86 (adopted on March 17) authorized the tribute so everyone at the post remembers their sacrifice. WDAM
- ➤ House Bill 602 will create the Mississippi Seafood Labeling Task Force to ensure seafood vendors provide clear origin information as some restaurants falsely label imported seafood as local. The bill heads to the governor’s desk amid concerns that mislabeling may drive up prices—task force members will include representatives from state agencies and the governor. WDAM
