  • Nearly 80 church members from CrossPoint Community Church and New Seasons Family Worship Center carried wooden crosses during a seven-mile Good Friday cross walk along Highway 98 Friday morning — starting at Chick-fil-A and ending at CrossPoint Church to mark 20 years of ministry.  WDAM

EDUCATION NEWS

  • City leaders are asking local businesses to join the Summer Job Fair for high school students on April 16 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Ben McNair Center — the event will help students gain early work experience.  WDAM
  • Legislators closed the session with limited new education policies, passing a $2,000 teacher raise, an expanded literacy act & a statewide math program while proposals for universal school choice stalled.   • A chancery court judge in Pass Christian struck down most parts of Mississippi’s controversial oyster leasing law on Saturday, April 4th, 2026, blocking plans to privatize public reefs.
