- ➤ Jamerie Wilson (31) of Hattiesburg was arrested on March 31 and charged with attempted murder, auto burglary, and credit card fraud in connection with a January 11 incident on Highway 49 in Forrest County, making him the fourth suspect in the case. WDAM

- ➤ Actress Parker Posey, star of HBO’s The White Lotus, credited her southern upbringing—giving a shoutout to Laurel and her mother—for shaping her role as wealthy housewife Victoria Ratliff. - ➤ Voters in Hattiesburg and Petal held Tuesday primary elections for select municipal races with polls open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.; in Hattiesburg only Wards 2 and 5 voted in contests including a new Council seat plus an incumbent race, while Petal held a citywide mayor's primary that may require a runoff on April 22 if no candidate wins a majority. - ➤ Mississippi announced three new programs to boost child care access for families, providers, and business owners.
