- ➤ Laurel Housing Authority has partnered with local groups to create a community garden behind Beacon Homes near the Visitors Center to grow produce such as broccoli, collard greens, and potatoes for residents facing rising grocery costs. - ➤ Hattiesburg police arrested Mandel Steen (19) and Eryrol Yarborough (21) on March 28 for a shooting on Hardy Street that occurred on March 26 around 11:00 p.m.; Steen faced charges of domestic aggravated assault and aggravated assault for use of a deadly weapon while Yarborough was charged as an accessory after the fact.
