- ➤ Approximately 30,000 people visited downtown Hattiesburg yesterday for the 38th annual Hubfest, hosted by the Area Development Partnership and sponsored by the city & Forrest County. The festival featured 175 arts, crafts and food vendors, live music on four stages and a headline performance by country singer Travis Denning. WDAM

- ➤ Festival vendors in the Pine Belt report rising gas costs are increasing expenses and changing travel habits during the busy festival season. Vendors such as Carlos Twillie and Cedric Rogers now plan to attend more local events – a strategy aimed at reducing long-distance trips as fuel prices climb quickly. WLBT

- ➤ Lawmakers have combined House and Senate proposals into a teacher pay raise bill that will increase salaries for teachers, assistant teachers and college educators. - ➤ On Friday, Head Start hosted its annual Power of Presence Fatherhood Conference at the Jackie Dole Sherrill Community Center in Hattiesburg, where fathers took part in interactive activities & listened to talks on mental health, relationships and financial literacy. WLBT
- ➤ William Carey University dedicated the rebuilt Mississippi Woman’s College Heritage Plaza on campus Friday after it was destroyed in the 2017 tornado — the new plaza connects to an outdoor stage and features restored historical markers honoring its roots. WLBT
