HEALTH NEWS

  • More than 1,100 kindergarten to fifth grade students raced in Blue Cross + Blue Shield’s 13th annual Get Ready to Run Kids’ One-Mile Fun Run at Trustmark Park in Pearl on Saturday. Forty-five schools had prepared students with a curriculum on nutrition, hydration, and pacing to boost health and confidence.  WDAM
  • Jones County resident Kristi Grimes credits her monthly breast self-exams for detecting invasive lobular carcinoma early, which allowed timely treatment and recovery, and she now urges local women to keep up with regular check-ups (her story highlights the benefit of early detection).  WDAM
