- ➤ The Pine Belt Veterans Task Force held its annual resource fair on Thursday at Jackie Dole Sherrill Community Center to give veterans, active-duty members and their families free help with health care, education and job resources. About 30 vendors were available to provide support. WDAM
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ JSUNAA will host its 35th annual scholarship event featuring a Black History Talent-Fashion Exhibition on Sunday at 3 p.m. at Hattiesburg High School auditorium to help local students attending JSU as it continues to support scholars with over $300,000 raised over the years. WDAM
- ➤ The University of Southern Mississippi is hosting its first Ready for Life Champion Awards Ceremony on Feb. 23 at 4:30 p.m. in the Ogletree House on campus & eight recipients plus two special commendations will receive funding for continued career-readiness projects. Hattiesburg American
- ➤ William Carey University's LPN to BSN Advanced Placement Hybrid Program achieved a 100% NCLEX-RN pass rate for its second cohort. The program lets local LPNs from Mississippi and Louisiana advance their education with online coursework (paired with in-person clinicals) and prepare for nursing careers. WDAM

- ➤ Priority Ambulance donated a Ford Transit ambulance to Camp Shelby's Fire and Rescue building, marking the first permanent on-site unit for faster lifesaving response (it is expected to cut response time substantially). WDAM

- ➤ University of Mississippi Medical Center confirmed a ransomware attack on Thursday, Feb. 19 that disrupted its IT network, forcing the closure of 35 clinics and cancellation of outpatient appointments while federal agencies investigate the breach.
