  • United Way of the Pine Belt Region held its annual meeting on Tuesday morning at South Central Place and shared its 2025 campaign progress with donors & volunteers. The organization reached 80% of its $375,000 goal and plans to raise the remainder by the end of March.  WDAM
  • Rev. Jesse Jackson, a noted civil rights leader, died Tuesday at 84 after a long illness, and Mississippi leaders, including some in Hattiesburg, praised his legacy of expanding voting rights and fostering community unity (a testament to his decades-long work) as his impact resonated statewide.  Hattiesburg American
